Want to RECEIVE impossible dreams?

Be like Abraham. His impossible dream became a delightful reality.

If you have dreams big enough to be impossible, you need to have the FAITH for the IMPOSSIBLE. Like Abraham.

How? Read on.

Abraham’s Impossible Dream

Abraham had an impossible dream.

God promised him descendants as many as the stars in the sky.

But he's already 75 years old with no child. His wife, already beyond child-bearing age.

Impossible dream.

Or is it?

25 years after God gave Abraham the promise, his wife, Sarah, gave birth to his son, Isaac.

He was 100 yrs old. Sarah was 90+. He then became the Father of many nations. Including us who believe in God as he did.

The impossible became possible

Abraham was promised the impossible. He RECEIVED the impossible. Because of his faith.

He had Faith for the Impossible.

Here are 5 lessons we can learn from him about having faith for impossible dreams.

  1. Abraham prayed and obtained God's promise about his dream

But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.”

Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Genesis 15:2‭-‬5 NLT
  1. Abraham believed in God and in His promise with all his heart.

Though there seemed no hope, he hoped and believed that he was to become father of many nations in fulfillment of the promise: Just so will your descendants be (as many as the stars in the sky)

Romans 4:18
  1. Abraham did not let his circumstances shake him and his faith

Even the thought that his body was as good as dead -- he was about a hundred years old -- and that Sarah's womb was dead too did not shake his faith.

Romans 4:19
  1. Abraham drew strength from his faith and gave glory to God

Counting on the promise of God, he did not doubt or disbelieve, but drew strength from faith and gave glory to God,

Romans 4:20
  1. Abraham was fully convinced that God is able to do as He promised

Fully convinced that whatever God promised he has the power to perform. This is the faith that was reckoned to him as uprightness

Romans 4:21-22

Can we have faith like Abraham's?

Yes, we can.

I had an impossible dream too. And I had nothing but faith like Abraham’s.

My impossible dream #1

I was a nurse working in a hospital for 20 years. I was earning $6 a day = $268 a month.

Nurses abroad were earning $2-3k per month. Maybe more.

I dreamt of earning more without going abroad and leaving my family. As most nurses in my country often do.

Seemed impossible to me.

My impossible dream #2

I was also living alone in the city I was working in. My family lives in another city, one overnight boat ride away. I was alone and lonely.

I dreamt of living with them with a home-based job. But there were no job openings for nurses in our place.

Seemed impossible to me.

God’s Promise to Me

Like Abraham, I prayed and God gave me a promise:

Remember, I will be with you and protect you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done all that I have promised you.”

Genesis 28:15 GNBDK

"This land" I took to mean my hometown. So I kept that promise in my heart.

God will bring me back home with the perfect job for me.

Years passed since I got that promise. I held on to it.

Believing it with all my heart.

Claiming it in my tithe, the 10% of my income I give back to God every payday.

Declaring it daily in prayer with thanksgiving, giving God glory in advance.

Receiving My Impossible Dreams

Long story short, I got 2 online jobs as a virtual assistant. In one, I was hired as a regular contractor with full-time pay. In another, I work part-time hours still with full-time pay.

My income grew x5!

My online jobs provided for my family. Even when the pandemic happened and most jobs shut down.

I can work wherever I want, as long as I have internet. So now I live with my family back in my hometown. I work at home and get to spend time with them while working.

I'm paid by the hour so my time is flexible and I can work my own hours.

I spend my entire morning on my own agenda:

Daily Mass, prayer walk, adoration in the Blessed Sacrament, 2 hrs focused on my business. After lunch naps.

My impossible dreams came true.

Now on to bigger dreams.

While I enjoy this daily on my prayer walk:

Receiving Your Impossible Dreams

So how do you RECEIVE impossible dreams?

Have Faith in God for your impossible dreams.

  1. Pray and get God's promises about your dreams

  1. Believe in God and in His promise with all your heart.

  1. Do not let your circumstances shake you and your faith

  1. Draw strength from your faith and give glory to God

  1. Be fully convinced that God is able to do as he promised

Now it's just a matter of time.

If you believe, you will receive your impossible dream.

Sooner or later, your impossible dream will be a reality.

And you will give glory to God.

Just as I did here in sharing my story.

Now Your Turn

Do you want to have the faith of Abraham?

It’s easy. It all starts with a relationship. The God of Abraham who made his impossible dream possible is our God and Father too.

Everything starts with a relationship with Him. Jesus made it possible for us to come to the Father as his child by His death on the cross. We can ask Him for our impossible dreams as a child asks his father who loves him.

If you’ve given your life to Jesus, you can go ahead and apply your faith to receive your impossible dreams.

If you don’t have yet a personal relationship with Jesus and you want to have one, just say this prayer with me:

Jesus, forgive me for my sins. Thank You for dying for me. Fill me with your life and with the power of your Holy Spirit. I want to live in You. Help me with my impossible dreams. I ask this, Father, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Now you’re a child of God, co-heir with Christ. You have access to God’s throne of glory where we can find grace and help in time of need.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
